More info about the project:

In the last years the term “Climate change” has turned from a distant threat into a felt reality. Worldwide campaigns like Fridays for Future or Extinction Rebellion are to a large degree youth movements. And they demand an immediate turnaround. While the fears of youth are justified and their protest understandable, the understanding for the mechanisms, regulatory frameworks and policies that can lead to the demanded turnaround are not so well known. The degree to which such policies have already been initiated and taken ground is underestimated. The announcements of politicians are perceived as mere promises. In reality, plans are far developed and changes are taking place, though often too slowly and in isolated fashion.
During the youth exchange “Energy forever!” participants explored the reasoning and opportunities of alternative energies. This exchange took the participants to the stations of this transition by public transport and on bike. The experience of outdoor travel was combined with units of self-directed learning in nature. The learning environment was combined with the experience of group challenges and recreation.

Participants encountered practitioners from state institutions and public companies, private entrepreneurs, farmers and political activists that are pushing all together the process of decarbonization and transition to clean energy. Participants analyzed carefully what are the downsides of the described energy sources like biofuels, the dangers of key transitional energies like gas and to weigh the possibilities to support the process also in their own home countries.

Participants were from Italy Italy, Spain Spain, Germany Germany, France France, Poland Poland, Romania Romania and Slovakia Slovakia. There were 6 participants from each country.
