Summary of the volunteering project.
There are a lot of different activities in kindergarten where the helping-hand of volunteer is needed (e.g. celebrating Estonian holidays such as different Christmas events and Christmas Fair but also national holidays like Mardipäev, Kadripäev, Vastlapäev etc; visits: visiting fire brigade, health museum, trips to nature etc). Volunteer will participate in all activities and offer his/her ideas and be creative with children. Volunteers can make performances with children, sport activities and competitions etc., having of course previously discussed and coordinated it all with the teachers. Volunteers will have experienced tutors, who will always be ready to help (if there will be some difficulties or problems) or just give good advice about everyday life in our city and country.
Volunteer works mainly with music and movement teacher. Music and movement activities take place in kindergarten hall. Volunteer is associated with all groups (in kindergarten are six groups). Both music and movement activities are built in a playful way. Activities in music and movement lesson:
Movement lesson: (gymnastics, rhythmics). Methods in activities: imitation, fantasy gymnastics, basic movements, ball games, movement games, teaching games with elements of sports games, hiking, sledding, cycling, etc.
Music lesson, methods in activities: singing, listening to music and nature voices, playing musical and song games, fantasy movement, rhythmic movement, dancing, depicting music in drawings, playing games, etc.
Volunteer main task is to assist the teacher and helping carry out the music and sport lessons. More specifically, she/he would have to directly assist the children, work individually with the ones who need extra attention or support. To participate actively in music and movement. Being involved, ready to share your ideas and thoughts to make lessons fun and exciting. Help the teacher prepare for lessons, prepare/look for teaching aids, take part in the study visits, outdoor education, assist the teachers in the preparation of the common events in the kindergarten (some traditional events-sports’ days, night disco, folklore festival, health mornings, etc). The volunteer will be fully included in organizing the events
