feedback from one of the participant:
“At the turn of November and December, I participated in a youth exchange in the picturesque Polish village of Poronin near High Tatras. Youth exchange was a bit unusual because participants were only from 3 countries – Ukraine, Poland and Slovakia. All Slavic countries because the topic was focused on Slavic legends, habits and traditions.
Through the performances we had to play and other different activities, I learned the culture, legends and history of our neighboring countries.
Unfortunately, after 3 days I got sick. Although it was beautiful outside, fever and cough forced me to stay in bed. I did not even participate in our activities and workshops. Well, I did not miss the company, everyone in our team took care of me. Eventually I had to visit a doctor as well. But thanks to the help of Lucka Redajová, who took care of me professionally as a nurse, I managed to return home healthy.
It might seem to discourage me in the future, but this exchange is a valuable experience for me, because in any circumstances it can be managed and taken something good”

Summary what was youth exchange about:
The main theme of the project are Polish, Slovak and Ukrainian legends, traditions, Slavic customs and rituals. Our main aim was not only to deepen and to gain knowledge about our cultures, but also to establish intercultural dialogue, to raise awareness of cultural identity and become more open-minded and tolerant towards our heritage, but also ourselves.
As a young people and students, we have passions and hobbies, which we wish to develop, therefore we have created this project. Many activities were organized using methods of non-formal education and using English for communication (integration games, themed activities, discussions, evaluations, city game, national and regional evenings, meetings with local community etc.).
Within the project, we also created a book of legends, traditions and customs ”Once upon a time: chronicles of Slavic lands” with original legend, which w worked on during youth exchange and which we shared in the dissemination of results phase. The project was an opportunity for us to gain valuable experience, knowledge, new friendships and attitudes, that will have a positive influence on our future.
Youth exchange was for young people between 15 – 19 years old. Participants were from Poland , Ukraine and Slovakia . From each country 12 participants.
