Copyright is extremely important because it constitutes the ownership of one’s original work. The school curriculum needs to prepare young people of all ages for the 21st-century knowledge economy, yet copyright, data protection, intellectual property is widely ignored within the education system. Our consultation with schools and youth organizations shows that there is a lack of these activities (touch copyright rules topic) at these organizations. Having ownership means you can protect your work as intellectual property and control who earn money off of it. It is extremely crucial to educate youth
Objectives
– increating the youth educators, leaders knowledge, skills about copyright rules, especially about RE-PRODUCTION & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, DATA IMAGE PROTECTION, BASIC COPYRIGHT RULES AND INNOVATIONS, INVENTIONS & PATENTS
– increasing the youth educators, leaders’ skills how to implement copy right activities during their classes, lessons
– increasing the knowledge about basic copyright rules among youth
– increasing the awareness about how crucial nowadays is this topic – that it touches our everyday life, and we do not notice that; that we should be focused on it, because it is also law,
– increasing our staff skills on how to implement copyright rules activities
Implementation
During the project lifetime we implemented:
– a handbook with scenarios, exercises and videos about 5 topics – INTRODUCTION TO THE TOPIC, RE-PRODUCTION & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, DATA IMAGE PROTECTION, COPYRIGHT RULES AND INNOVATIONS, INVENTIONS & PATENTS). The handbook is available in English, Polish, Slovak, Slovenian and Lithuanian. In each country also the pilot testing happened. – 75 people tested the program.
– 4 topics of animation about copyright rules. Together we have 15 animations.
– 4 comic books about Image and personal data protection, Patent rules, Reproduction and intellectual property, Introduction to the copyright rules
– we organized dissemination events during which we presented the results and how to use it and debates during which we discussed copyright rules
– 2 transnational meetings to establish the appropriate schedule for our project:

– joint staff meeting for our staff about including the topic of copyright rules in youth activities
Results
