Typ projektu:

The project aims to equip youth workers from seven countries (Slovakia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Hungary, Romania, North Macedonia) with skills to address disinformation and misinformation through an international training course. Scheduled for summer (June) 2025 in Trnava, Slovakia, the training will involve 28 participants and 2 trainers. Participants will include youth workers, educators, youth leaders, trainers, mentors, coaches, volunteer coordinators, teachers, and aspiring educators, selected from partner organizations in the participating countries.

Core Objectives:

  1. Awareness of Disinformation: Participants will explore their countries’ historical encounters with propaganda and misinformation to contextualize current challenges.
  2. Skill Development: The program will enhance participants’ ability to recognize disinformation, discuss its societal impact, and educate others about it.
  3. Media Literacy: The training aims to improve media literacy and critical thinking among youth workers, empowering them to address misinformation in their professional roles.

Activities:

  • The project centers on a mobility training course employing non-formal educational methods such as discussions, debates, workshops, mentoring, outdoor activities, and creative movement.
  • Participants will collaboratively create a practical booklet with tips for recognizing and addressing disinformation, which will be disseminated within their organizations and communities.
  • The training promotes experiential learning, active engagement, and peer-to-peer knowledge sharing.

Expected Outcomes:

  1. Professional Growth: Youth workers will gain tools to facilitate respectful discussions, moderate conflicts, and enhance their critical thinking.
  2. Educational Impact: Participants will develop activities targeting young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities, addressing societal challenges linked to misinformation.
  3. Organizational Benefits: Partner organizations will improve their educational quality, deepen engagement with young people, and expand inclusion initiatives. The project will enhance their capacity for future European collaborations and the use of innovative tools.

Long-Term Impact:

  • Participants will return to their communities equipped to promote media literacy, foster critical thinking, and encourage youth activism.
  • Local follow-up activities such as workshops and seminars will disseminate the training outcomes.
  • The intercultural collaboration ensures universal applicability of the methods developed, strengthening the European youth sector’s capacity to tackle disinformation.

This initiative will foster a network of empowered youth workers, enhancing the inclusivity and effectiveness of youth programs while addressing misinformation challenges across the Central and Eastern European region. Through this effort, the project aspires to create a ripple effect, driving positive change in local and international contexts.
