RISE (Roma Inclusion through Sport in Europe) was a joint initiative of European sport and civil society organization to tackle discrimination, social exclusion and marginalization of Roma youngsters through exchanging of good practices, capacity building activities and the development of sport-based educational activities. The key objective of the project was to promote social inclusion, equal opportunities and awareness of disadvantaged situation of the Roma minority through sport-based education activities.
The transnational project meeting organised by Champions Factory was a 4-days long training course to up-skill sport coaches, trainers, youth and social workers with the educational methodology to deliver quality sport-based interventions addressing the needs of disadvantaged young people living in segregated areas. The training course was based on the introduction of the tangible outcomes of the RISE project, especially the educational manual will serve as the main input for the activities organized. The training was based on non-formal education building on the personal contributions of participants in forms of interactive workshops and presentations, roundtable
discussions and debates.
Main content of the training course:
– Theoretical and practical knowledge on prejudice and inclusivity
– Methods on delivering quality sport-based interventions for disadvantaged groups
– Introduction of the collected good practices and case studies
– Introduction of the RISE Handbook
Tréning bol predovšetkým určený Rómom od 18 rokov a iným ktorí pracujú s touto cieľovou skupinou a ktorí majú minimálne základy angličtiny. Účastníci boli z Maďarska , Bulharska , Severného Macedónska , Rumunska a Slovenska . Z každej krajiny boli 4 účastníci.
