The “Working Class Hero” is an Erasmus+ training course aimed at empowering youth workers to better support young people in enhancing their employability skills. The project is particularly focused on helping young people who face difficulties in entering the labor market, such as unemployment, precarious working conditions, or discrimination. By fostering key skills, intercultural competence, and career guidance strategies, this project will empower youth workers to help young people become their own “heroes” in the challenging world of work.

John Lennon’s “Working Class Hero” critiques societal barriers that prevent ordinary people from reaching their potential, resonating with the project’s goal of empowering young people to overcome challenges in the job market. Both the song and the project emphasize equality, self-determination, and breaking down barriers to create a more just and inclusive society.

Objectives:
– Empower youth workers to provide better vocational guidance and support for young people entering the labor market.
– Combat stereotypes and negative experiences that may hinder young people’s career planning.
– Promote self-awareness by helping young people reflect on their past experiences to shape their future career goals.
– Encourage social inclusion by working with young people from diverse backgrounds, particularly those with fewer opportunities.
– Develop career planning tools by teaching youth workers how to help young people set clear career goals using frameworks like “Me and Skills,” “Me and
   Workplace,” and “Me and Purpose.”
– Increase learning mobility across European countries to foster solidarity and intercultural competence in the work environment.
