1 in 5 European children experiences sexual violence or harassment. These traumatic experiences yield lasting negative effects on self-identity, leading to marginalization, disengagement, and educational drop-outs.
Youth workers hold a responsibility to nurture youth’s understanding of boundaries and respect, using our non-formal education methods.
MOST YOUTH WORKERS LACK TRAINING TO ADDRESS SEXUAL HARASSMENT
Overlooking violence perpetuates trauma, a common yet ignored reality in European youth work. Study shows this stems from youth workers’ discomfort with the subject. Youth workers are legally bound to provide safe spaces; neglect has legal and reputational consequences.
AIM OF THE PROJECT
- Sustainable practices with a lasting impact on the safety and wellbeing of young people in our activities.
- To equip youth workers with tools and confidence for to create safety and prevention of sexual harassment,
- To promote gender equality, inclusion, diversity, wellbeing and by-stander intervention among youth,
- To establish a network of youth workers building safety of youth around EU.
Training course is mostly for youth workers, teachers, leaders, volunteers or for everybody who are interested in the topic, want to travel, learn and meet new people and cultures from the age of 18+.
Participants will be from Poland , Estonia , Italy , Portugal , Spain , France , Bulgaria , Belgium and Slovakia . There will be 2 participants from each country.
Accommodation HERE and food will be provided and financed from the Erasmus + program during the whole project. Travel costs will be reimbursed up to 210 euro. Detailed information regarding financial procedures are written in FAQ and will be further explained with selected participants.
