IN THE PALACE is an international festival dedicated to short films, new media and digital arts under 27 minutes in length. The main purpose of the Festival is to present contemporary film art from Bulgaria, Europe and the whole world. IN THE PALACE provides an exceptionally favorable environment and platform of expression for both young film artists and established professionals in this artistic field. Established in 2003, the festival has grown from a competitive forum for student films into the largest and most prestigious short film festival in Bulgaria and the region.
Project involved 75 young people from 15 European countries on age between 18-30 who are working and are active in the areas of journalism, new media, blogging, video blogging, photography, art criticism, and cultural studies.
During the Festival the volunteers who took part in the project were occupied with interviewing filmmakers and participants, writing reviews and articles about the films, made cultural-studies researches about the social tendencies and issues in the contemporary audiovisual art, taking pictures and shooting videos and reporting on the event in their respective countries and in social media.
