Summary what was youth exchange about:

Contributions f(or) our Community project was aiming at developing a sense of common responsibility for the future of the local communities as well as the whole European community for 49 young people and youth leaders and for their respective organizations from 7 countries through out the project period. The activities focused on participation among youth, developing the concept of volunteering and service learning.

The participants learnt how to analyze the resources and plan activities in the community in order to be active and to produce change. Besides all these, they also learnt about other cultures and about their process of learning and Youth Pass certificate, how they can act better as citizens of their country.

This project brought a new dimension into local and international youth involvement and cooperation integrating both marginalised youth and youth that are already supported in different NGO structures. The methods applied helped young people to reflect and express their opinions about actual topics and to make youngsters from different backgrounds feel connected in order to build trust through and understanding through community work that can be applied no matter the country or the region.

6 days in which we lived and learnt together, in order:

• to develop specific competences within the frame of service learning (community analysis, project management and community action)
• to develop pro-active attitudes among the participants by working together for a common purpose
• to understand the similarities and the differences about culture in 6 different countries from Europe Union and/ or neighbour countries
• to develop a sense of common responsibility for the future of the local communities as well as the whole European community and to expand participants’ network;
• create an interactive learning space for young people for reflection and new ideas for personal and professional development

Participants were from  Romania , Portugal , Italy , Macedonia , Kosovo and Slovakia .
