If you haven’t been on project yet and you’re still hesitating
Category:Stories of participantsWhen I was talking to a friend one afternoon, he recommended to me that
I should try the Youth Exchange. He said that I will meet great people, see new
countries and cultures and we will have a lot of fun and so it happened.
When I learned i was chosen for this project I was very excited, it was my
first project. Thanks to this project, I had the opportunity to fly an airplane
for the first time. I was also a little scared because my English was not good.
When we finally arrived at the place where it took place, I was first surprised.
A hotel in the middle of the forest, I said to myself, if I don’t get along with other
people so I’ll be bored. But the opposite was true. I’ve never been so wrong.
It was the best accommodation. Even we could not go to the party in the evening
to the city, we had the opportunity to get to know each other better.
Beautiful nature around us and we were also about 10 minutes from
the geographical center of Bulgaria.
The topic was Say NO to discrimination. We have learned a lot about what
discrimination is, what types exist, new knowledge about stereotypes
and prejudices. Thanks to our great lecturers, we were never bored.
They had a program full of games and activities ready for us.
At the beginning it was very difficult to remember all the names,
but every day we had different games to remember them.
I also experienced the famous intercultural night for the first time, it was really great, I tasted traditional food and drinks from different countries for the first time.
Spanish sangria appealed to me the most. I had no idea that I would
meet such great people and maybe get lifelong friendships. I recommend
you to go to the Youth Exchange from my own experience, because the words
Youth Exchange cannot be described, everyone must experience it!
