“Culture and education association from Lovinac, Croatia hosted Erasmus+ youth exchange “Be aware, be sustainable” from 16 – 23 April 2023 in a small village Krš in rural mountain area in Croatia.
25 young people from 5 different countries – Croatia, Romania, Slovakia. Italy and Latvia participated an interesting project focused on gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in permaculture and using permacultural principles in daily life in achieving a sustainable, green, ecological lifestyle.

Young people learned in non-formal and informal ways, learned through experience, worked in groups in a multicultural supportive environment, focusing on sustainability, permaculture, environmental responsibility, healthy lifestyle, importance of healthy diets and spending time outdoors in nature. They had a chance to gain practical skills such as cutting wood, making fire, making your own bread, making natural cleaning products etc. They presented each others’ countries, culture and customs, food and drinks during the intercultural evening. Young people will impact their communities back home sharing and practicing the learned, spreading the positive impact of the project.”

TOPICS: sustainability, permaculture, responsible use of energy and digital technology, green washing, fast fashion, ecological products, sustainable diet choices
AIMS: bringing together young people from 5 countries to work together and learn about sustainable living and ecology, gaining new skills and knowledge to implement in daily life.

WHO CAOULD APPLY:
Anyone aged 18-30 and interested in the Topics of the project 4 participants (18 – 30) + 1 team leader (can be 30+) from 5 countries:
Latvia, Italy, Slovakia, Romania and Croatia. Candidates with economic, educational, social or geographical obstacles will be given advantage.

Participants were from Latvia , Romania , Italy , Croatia and Slovakia . There were 5 participants from each country.
