Rural Voices: From Aldeia to Brussels

The “Rural Voices: From Aldeia to Brussels” youth exchange is a European project organised by The Associação Desportiva, Cultural e Social da Aldeia de São Sebastião, The main objective of our project is to empower young people in rural areas by improving their understanding of and active participation in the democratic life of the European Union, with a particular focus on the 2024 European elections and the dynamics of the European institutions.

To achieve this objective, we have defined three specific sub-objectives:
– Design and implement initiatives in rural areas that deepen knowledge of the structure, role, and importance of European bodies, empowering young people to become aware and participatory citizens.
– Launch awareness-raising initiatives that highlight the importance of the 2024 European elections, providing tools and resources that motivate and empower rural young people to exercise their right to vote in an informed manner.
– Establish mechanisms for interaction between young people in rural areas and representatives of the European institutions, promoting mutual understanding and strengthening a sense of belonging and representation in the European Union.

Youth exchange is for everybody who are interested in the topic, want to travel, learn and meet new people and cultures from the age of 18 – 30. Leaders can be older than that.
