Up and Running

Young people living in rural areas generally have fewer opportunities than their peers living in urban areas to engage in activities offered by youth workers, such as non-formal education activities, sport events or creative workshops. A lot of youth centers use a method called MOBILE WORK, to bring rural youngsters these opportunities.

“Up and Running” is a training course aims to provide youth workers better understanding of mobile youth work, to enhance youth participation, a way to ensure that every youngster has an opportunity to prove to themselves that they can and they will!

If you are a youth worker, ready to share your experiences, get to know other people and learn new mobile work practices and methods to enhance your organization’s competencies, THIS PROJECT IS FOR YOU!

This is a training course with a goal to provide a better understanding of mobile youth work. Learn, gather skills, practices, improve competencies and create new methods or resources of how to engage youth from rural areas or places that do not have a youth worker present.

Objectives

• To understand the concept of mobile youthwork
• To strengthen competencies, skills and increase knowledge of youth workers about mobile youthwork
• To reflect upon roles, responsibilities, challenges and needs, concerning mobile youthwork
• To provide a meeting point for organizations to exchange information, to support contact and cooperation between organizations, to establish international partnerships
• To to create a new activity for mobile work in theme of green practices, that can be brought back home and played out / implemented togehther with youngsters

Participants were from more countries of EU. There were 3 participants from each country.
